Wayans Bros. Clip – The Temptones

25 Nov

Perusing my boy’s YouTube favorites led me to this classic clip from the under-appreciated Wayans Brothers sitcom.

That’ll be stuck in my head all day.

Marlon Wayans and Ghostface Killah

9 Oct

Here’s my attempt of killing two birds with one stone. A little bit of news and a little bit of randomness.

News first.
If you haven’t heard, pre-production for a Richard Pryor biopic is well underway. The film, fondly titled, “Richard Pryor: Is it Something I Said” was suppose to star Eddie Murphy as Richard Pryor. However, Murphy has dropped out of the project giving young Marlon Wayans the opportunity to snatch the role.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Wayans gave quite an impressive 13-minute screen test. As of now, the role of Pryor is still up for grabs, although it has been strongly suggested Wayans will be casted as Richard Pryor.

Now, Randomness.

“That’s wack. I’m saying though, 30 days? It’s like, you don’t even know that broad, b. You don’t even know each other! It’s like, I never ever…where he from? Queens? No, he can’t be from Queens, Queens don’t do that.”

White Chicks Sequel On the Way

18 Aug

The Wayans Brothers are prepping to write, direct, and of course star in a sequel to their goofy 2004 comedy, White Chicks. Keenan Ivory Wayans is on tap to direct, and Shawn and Marlon will apparently reprise their roles in some form.

I know, I know. Trust me. White Chicks wasn’t remotely close to being a candidate for the “Coming to America Challenge“, but I can’t lie. I enjoyed the first one. I’ll be down to check out the sequel too, as long as it provides more scenes like this one:

Norbit – Power Tap Infomercial

12 Aug

Norbit wasn’t even a candidate for the Coming to America challenge, but one part of the movie I legitimately enjoyed was Marlon Wayans as the Power Tap instructor.

Check out this mock infomercial explaining the benefits of the program:

I can’t believe Marlon’s in G.I. Joe…
